The U14 DEVO Program begins to emphasize ski racing technique and tactics while continuing to develop basic technical skills. Groups split their time between all-mountain skiing, drills, and gate training.
Free-skiing will continue to be the main avenue for delivery and practice of racing skill development. This program includes a dryland training program, weekly on-snow video sessions, and athletes are encouraged to travel and compete locally and in the PNSA Division races.
Entry level participants split their racing between MM Council Races and USSA YSL Events. Athletes are arranged in groups based on skill, speed and social needs. Athletes may be selected to train with advanced groups. U14 training will occur at both Timberline and Ski Bowl depending on day of week and schedule along with occasional free ski opportunities at Mt. Hood Meadows.
Athletes have the option to ski with their coaches and other groups from the Ski Team every Thursday and Friday night at Ski Bowl, with an emphasis on skiing fundamentals but with more directed gate training techniques and tactics.
Program fee includes a CWSC membership.
Mt. Hood's only program providing:
7-day a week on-snow summer training
managed year round dryland program
